Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang, widely known as The Grand Palace, is one of Thailand’s most important historical and architectural landmarks. Established in 1782 by King Rama I, the palace served as the official residence of the Kings of Siam and later Thailand for over 150 years.

The complex features stunning throne halls, royal reception buildings, and meticulously maintained courtyards, all richly decorated with gilded details, traditional Thai motifs, and European-influenced architecture from later reigns. Although the royal family no longer resides here, the Grand Palace remains a ceremonial venue for important state functions.

Located along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok’s Old Town, the palace complex also houses Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), making it one of the most visited cultural sites in Thailand.
